Memphis - Jimmy Jim´s band at the Blues Hall Juke Joint. Blues Hall is the last real juke joint on the Beale street. Juke Joints were the places where plantation workers met after work, and in addition, where the Blues was born. Juke joint refers to an informal establishment featuring music, dancing and drinking, primarily operated by African Americans . It´s believed that the term "juke" derives from the Gullah word joog or jug, meaning rowdy or disorderly.
